Matria Jardín Arterapéutico is a multidisciplinary art project that involves the intervention of an old house, uninhabited and in ruins, located at 103 Murguía Street, in the historic center of Oaxaca City. There will qualify an urban garden that is itself complex artwork and other pieces: sculptures, interventions, installations, lighting pieces, videos and sound art.

We want to bring together in one space, artistic expression alongside sustainability practices and techniques. This combination gives an unprecedented character in Oaxaca, which we hope that the garden and all interventions developed over the years to generate a living space as artistic experience which involved various stakeholders, is ie, we relate to the community around the house and look for links beyond the usual audience of the historic center.

We seek to turn around the way art objects are presented: the collection of objects will be recycled, and sometimes combined obey change processes triggered by the mere fact of being outdoors. For the production of the interventions as well as for the generation of the garden, will engage various audiences: groups of children, neighbors, schools and women's groups. By working with actors outside the art world, the artists, the curator and the teams of documentation, research and assembly will join permaculture, gardeners and workshop focused on energy sustainability processes, water and food and medicinal plant specialists. With all this we create a community network, between art and sustainability.
